“Video has certainly made me a much better still photographer,” says RIAD photographer Troy House who recently shot the latest campaign for NetJets and the celebration of their 50th Anniversary. “It’s made me think much more about story.”
Having worked on campaigns ranging from Celebrity Cruises to United Airlines to Loews Hotels, House’s eye is one of wanderlust, adventure, and pure enchantment. And his work for NetJets was no different. This time around, however, he utilized both photo and video to create a narrative that highlighted the private aviation company’s focus on continued innovation and bettering the lives of their clients and their families.
While House will admit that “video does in some ways change the way we shoot,” he is quick to emphasize the overall importance of artistic collaboration and having an openness to what can happen when both video and photography collide to tell the story that both the artist and the client never expected. “It’s looking through two different mediums to accomplish the same objective: telling a story and solving clients needs.”
